Terror in İzmir: Knife attack on mother and daughter! Attacker's initial statement revealed

The incident took place yesterday evening in a park in İzmir. 45-year-old mother Ö.T. and her 24-year-old daughter, İlayda Alkan, had gone to sit in the park yesterday evening. A person approached the mother and daughter as they were sitting and chatting in the park and suddenly attacked them with a knife. During the moments of terror, the mother and daughter were stabbed multiple times by the attacker. Screams erupted as bystanders noticed the incident.

CAUGHT AFTER A CHASE

Following the shocking incident, night watchmen in the vicinity pursued the fleeing attacker. Meanwhile, the incident was immediately reported to police and medical teams. Realizing he would be caught, the fleeing suspect stabbed himself. Police teams who arrived quickly at the scene took the slightly injured suspect into custody.

DAUGHTER DIED, MOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED

The stabbed mother, Ö.T., and her daughter, İlayda Alkan, were immediately taken to the hospital by medical teams. Despite all interventions at the hospital, the young woman İlayda Alkan could not be saved. The seriously injured mother, Ö.T., continues to receive treatment at the hospital.

The identity of the detained attacker was shocking. The attacker turned out to be 31-year-old Y.Y., who works as a civil servant at a state hospital. According to initial investigations, it was learned that there was no closeness or acquaintance between the attacker and the murdered İlayda Alkan or the seriously injured mother, Ö.T. A comprehensive investigation is ongoing regarding the attacker, who assaulted two women he did not know for no apparent reason.

ATTACKER'S INITIAL STATEMENT REVEALED

It was learned that in his initial statement, the attacker said, “I don't remember anything. I am going to kill myself. I don't know what kind of thing I have done.”
