Terrorist organization PKK issues 'new crises will emerge if Öcalan is not released' statement: We expect concrete steps from the state

Threat-like statements have come from spokespersons of the terrorist organization PKK, which symbolically laid down its arms. Spokespersons Tekin Muş, Tekoşin Ozan, and Nedim Seven made statements to Numedya24 regarding the continuation of the process.

Tekin Muş said regarding the laying down of arms, "If no steps are taken, there is no second group coming to destroy their weapons on our agenda beyond this." Spokesperson Nedim Seven demanded the release of Öcalan.

THREAT-LIKE STATEMENTS MADE

In the statement, which contained threat-like remarks, Tekin Muş said that the continuation of laying down arms was not on their agenda. Muş stated, "There is no such thing on our agenda now. However, for the process to progress healthily and at the stage of destroying weapons, the Kurdish movement is limited to this for now. If the government and the state take appropriate steps and a legal basis is prepared, we will re-evaluate this situation. This step can only develop in this way. If no steps are taken, there is no second group coming to destroy their weapons on our agenda beyond this."

"WE EXPECT CONCRETE STEPS FROM THE STATE" 

Spokesperson Tekoşin Ozan stated in her remarks that if no concrete steps are taken by the state, the group of 30 that laid down their arms would be the first and last group. Ozan said, "As long as concrete steps are not taken by the state, it should be known that this is the first and last group. If no steps are taken, there should be no expectation of anything else. With this action, we have shown the necessary seriousness and good will. The process from here on will be shaped according to the steps the state will take."

"PHYSICAL FREEDOM FOR ÖCALAN"

Spokesperson Nedim Seven explained that it could not be said that weapons were completely off the agenda. He said that if steps such as Öcalan's physical freedom, legal regulations, and the release of those in prisons are not taken, weapons will come back into play:

"All our efforts and the steps we have taken are in this direction. However, if there is another attack on the Kurdish people, if Apo's physical freedom is not ensured, if the path to democratic politics is not opened, if legal regulations are not made, and if political prisoners in jails are not set free, this will not create a good environment and new crisis points will emerge. If this climate cannot be changed in our region, where the potential for weapons and conflict is high, weapons will naturally maintain their relevance as a tool."
