In the new resolution process, which was architected by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli and dubbed "Terror-Free Turkey" by the government, a group of PKK terrorists laid down their arms and set them on fire in a symbolic 'ceremony' in Sulaymaniyah on July 11, following a video message from terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Nefes Gazetesi columnist Nuray Babacan carried the developments behind the scenes of the terrorist organization PKK's disarmament ceremony and the discussions in the corridors to her column.

According to Babacan's article, these symbolic images shared with the public by the terrorist organization PKK are seen as only the first step of the actual plan. It is stated that the subsequent stages of the disarmament process will involve much more comprehensive technical steps.

Babacan noted the following in her article:

“It is explained that a delegation consisting of representatives from Turkey, Syria, and the Iraqi Kurdish Region, under the organization of the MIT, will begin the actual ‘disarmament’ efforts from now on. For instance, many technical activities are being discussed, such as the destruction of all actively used caves, the evacuation of headquarters, the collection of heavy weapons under the supervision of observers, and the abandonment of uniforms and the dissolution of the structure. It is also openly stated that these will take months.

"They argue that new images regarding the dissolution of the PKK and the laying down of arms should be served to the public from time to time, and that information sharing regarding the continuation of the liquidation process should continue.

“The general understanding is that armed PKK members are not wanted in the triangle of Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. The 2,500 PKK members on Turkey's list will not be within the borders of these three countries either. It is explained that the individuals referred to by the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack, who said “They can come to us if they want,” are those on this list.

“Comments are being made that those among the other PKK members who have not committed crimes can come to Turkey, while those who have committed crimes can take on roles in civilian life in Syria and Iraq.”
