Tesla recalls 200,000 vehicles

It has been announced that electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is recalling approximately 200,000 vehicles in the US due to a software instability that prevents the rearview camera from displaying on the screen.

According to AA's report, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that Tesla is recalling certain 2023 Model S, X, and Y vehicles equipped with the company's full self-driving 4.0 system due to the software error.

The statement noted that the software instability could prevent the rearview camera from displaying, which would reduce the driver's field of vision and increase the risk of an accident. The statement indicated that 199,575 vehicles are being recalled.

Pointing out that Tesla has released an over-the-air software update to resolve the issue, the statement said that vehicle owners affected by the recall are expected to be notified starting March 22.

As part of recalls, which mean that automakers have identified a potential safety issue with their vehicles, manufacturers typically provide free repair services, while affected customers are informed via letters or other communication channels.
