Testimony proceedings begin for İnan Güney and 44 others

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, numerous individuals, including those previously arrested, face accusations of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," and "rigging tenders."

The testimony of the 44 individuals detained by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch has begun. The suspects are expected to be referred to the courthouse on Monday following the completion of police procedures.

DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION

As part of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for 44 people, including Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney. It is alleged that 35 of the suspects are linked to previously arrested Murat Ongun and fugitive suspect Emrah Bağdatlı, and were involved in fraudulent activities within Medya AŞ, Kültür AŞ, and the IMM. The other 9 suspects are stated to have operated within the social media structure of the criminal organization under Ongun's control.
