Thank-you call from Devlet Bahçeli to Davutoğlu: A letter containing solution proposals

Davutoğlu had visited Northern Iraq between May 18-23 and held various meetings there.

In a statement made after the visit, Davutoğlu said that due to the timing of this visit, which took place following the PKK's decision to disband, they had both listened to opinions regarding the process and shared their own vision with the people they were in contact with.

Davutoğlu also stated that after his visit to Duhok in Iraq, he wrote a letter to Bahçeli recommending that he visit the region, and conveyed that many Kurdish politicians, primarily Masoud and Nechirvan Barzani, had said, “Give our regards to Mr. Bahçeli, we are praying for his health.”

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli conveyed his thanks to Davutoğlu following the visit.

Future Party spokesperson Ufuk Karcı announced on his X account that Bahçeli had called Davutoğlu to thank him.

"MHP Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli has conveyed his thanks by calling our chairman Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu regarding the letter sent to him, which contained the bilateral meetings held during the Northern Iraq visit conducted between May 18-23, the impressions gained, the expectations of the regional peoples regarding the new process, and his own solution proposals.

Mr. Devlet Bahçeli emphasized that they benefited from the points written in our chairman's letter, and our chairman stated that the process initiated by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli in the region has received broad support."
