The cost of this road in Antalya has increased 31-fold in 7 years: The tender was won by a name close to Erdoğan
When the road commissioned by the General Directorate of Highways was not completed by the planned date, a 'completion' tender was held. While the cost of the road increased 31-fold in 7 years, the tender was won by İbrahim Turgut, known for his closeness to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Antalya Gazipaşa Regional Border road, commissioned by the General Directorate of Highways and scheduled to be finished in 2022, could not be completed.
THE COST OF THE ROAD INCREASED 31-FOLD IN 7 YEARS
According to the report by Deniz Ayhan in Sözcü, 369 million 997 thousand liras were paid for the construction of the road in 2017. Since the road was not finished, a "completion" tender was held this year. The cost reached 11 billion 562 million 913 thousand TL. In the 7 years that have passed, the cost has increased 31-fold.
Turgut Mühendislik, one of the companies that won the tender, is known for its closeness to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The owner of the company, İbrahim Turgut, is also the President of Çaykur Rizespor.
VISITED AT THE PALACE
Turgut had previously visited President Erdoğan at the palace. Since 2020, Turgut's company has received other tenders worth 5 billion 615 million TL in addition to the Gazipaşa Road.
