The expected statement on Özkan Yalım has arrived from the CHP! Will he be expelled?
It has been alleged that CHP Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was taken into custody, will be referred to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) with a request for permanent expulsion. Speaking on the matter, CHP sources stated, "We will listen to the person at the center of the allegations and then make a decision. However, these images are unacceptable. A comprehensive evaluation will be made at today's CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, but a decision will not be made immediately."
A striking claim has emerged regarding CHP Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was taken into custody as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into bribery allegations.
Journalist Uğur Dündar claimed that if Yalım does not resign, he will be referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for permanent expulsion at today's CHP MYK meeting.
A statement regarding the matter has come from CHP sources. Aytunç Erkin, who spoke with the CHP Headquarters, included the response in his column today.
According to Erkin, CHP sources stated the following:
“These allegations are not true, at least not yet. He is currently still in custody. We will look at the situation after the judge's decision. Will he be arrested or released? It is necessary to speak with him regarding these issues. Let the judicial process clarify first; then it will be discussed, and as the Chairman said, the party will do what is necessary. Allegations emerged regarding an AKP mayor in Adapazarı; he resigned three weeks later, and a portion of their media defended that mayor, despite all the correspondence. Ultimately, we will listen to the person at the center of the allegations and then make a decision. However, these images are unacceptable. A comprehensive evaluation will be made at today's CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, but a decision will not be made immediately.”
