The heartbreaking struggle for survival of Shepherd Nail, who was beaten

Kahramanmaraş's Andırın district, in the Çokak Neighborhood, the trauma experienced by Shepherd Nail Yener, who was beaten with a stick by his young sisters, is heartbreaking. Struggling to survive under difficult conditions with his disabled siblings and his 78-year-old mother, Eşe, Nail is trying to hold onto life with the support he receives from his surroundings following the incident of violence.

THE FAMILY STRUGGLES WITH DIFFICULTIES

Nail's family has faced great hardship since their father passed away in 1995. While living with his mother Eşe and his two older brothers, Mehmet (53) and Osman (49), they try to sustain their lives with the help provided by the villagers. While the family tries to meet their basic needs thanks to the support of the local people, the incident Nail experienced has also deeply affected the family dynamics.

NAIL'S STATEMENTS DRAW ATTENTION 

Sharing the fearful moments he experienced after the incident, Nail expressed his victimization by saying, "I was sitting there, they beat me for no reason. They wanted me to buy them alcohol. I have an elderly mother, I have two older brothers, we are three siblings. I am poor, we do no harm to anyone."
