The mine that caused the death of 9 people is reopening
Anagold Mining, where 9 workers lost their lives in the İliç district of Erzincan, is set to resume operations shortly.
An important development has occurred regarding the mine located in the İliç district, which led to the deaths of 9 people.
Mustafa Gürbüz, AKP Erzincan Provincial Vice Chairman and former Mayor of İliç, announced that the mine, which was closed following the death of 9 workers at Anagold Mining, will resume operations in a short time.
Gürbüz stated that the reopening of the mine is of great importance not only for the İliç district but for the entire region.
Stating that mining has added value to the district since 1998, Gürbüz said, "We lost 9 of our lives in that disaster, and one of them was my nephew. The district experienced great chaos. The mine, which started production in 2008, had turned the region into a gold city. Everyone, from women to young people, was working there. However, with the closure of the mine, hopes in the district diminished and domestic unrest began."
