Chief Presidential Advisor and Member of the Economic Policies Board Yiğit Bulut has passed away at the age of 53 due to the cancer he had been battling for a long time. Following the ceremony held at the Marmara University Faculty of Theology Mosque, Bulut's body was laid to rest at the Karacaahmet Cemetery.
Among those attending the funeral were former Minister of Interior and AKP Istanbul Deputy Süleyman Soylu, Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Chairman Binali Yıldırım, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son and Foundation for the Spread of Knowledge (İlim Yayma Vakfı) Board of Trustees Chairman Bilal Erdoğan, former Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak, and Turkey's former Ambassador to Prague Egemen Bağış.

During the ceremony, while Bilal Erdoğan was conveying his condolences to Bulut's family before the funeral prayer, he shook hands with many of the attendees. However, it was noted that he did not shake hands with Egemen Bağış, who was waiting in the row.
