The preference of young people voting for the first time has been revealed: Their favorite deputies have also been announced

In a study conducted by PİAR Research between February 9-12, 2026, 1,180 participants aged 15-20, who will head to the polls for the first time in the 2028 general elections, were asked the question, "If there were a general election this Sunday, which political party would you vote for?"

The research was conducted using the CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) method. It was stated that the margin of error is ± 2.85 percent. According to the results where undecided voters were distributed, the trend of young voters revealed a remarkable picture.

CHP IS FAR AHEAD

According to the survey, the CHP ranked first among young people voting for the first time with 38.4 percent. While the AKP was in second place with 24.6 percent, the Zafer Party was positioned in third place with 11.5 percent.

While the Nationalist Movement Party's (MHP) vote share was measured at 7.2 percent, the DEM Party received 6.8 percent support, and the IYI Party received 6.0 percent.

While the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) remained at the 2.1 percent level, the total for "Other" parties was recorded as 3.4 percent.

LIST OF MOST LIKED DEPUTIES

In the research, young voters were also asked, "Who are your favorite deputies?" According to the February 2026 results, CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal ranked first with 24.5 percent. He was followed by CHP Ankara Deputy Gamze Taşcıer with 23.6 percent and CHP Ankara Deputy Murat Emir with 22.1 percent.

While TİP Istanbul Deputy Sera Kadıgil ranked high on the list with 21.8 percent, CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır received 21.5 percent approval.

AKP Spokesperson and Adana Deputy Ömer Çelik received 21.1 percent; IYI Party Istanbul Deputy Buğra Kavuncu 20.7 percent; AKP Istanbul Deputy Özlem Zengin 20.2 percent; IYI Party Balıkesir Deputy Turhan Çömez 19.7 percent; and CHP Istanbul Deputy Gökhan Günaydın 19.5 percent support.
