The prison where Haluk Levent was taken has been identified

Haluk Levent, the president of the Ahbap Association, who was arrested as part of the investigation conducted into the association, has been taken to the Karatepe Penal Institution in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ.

It was stated that Levent was brought to the prison from Istanbul by minibus at noon on July 16 and was placed in the institution following the completion of processing.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 25 suspects, including Haluk Levent, were referred to the courthouse following their procedures at the police station. Of the suspects brought before the Criminal Judgeship of Peace, 14 people, including Levent, were arrested, while the other suspects were released under judicial control conditions.

It was reported that proceedings were initiated against Levent in the investigation on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "laundering assets derived from crime," and "violation of the Tax Procedure Law and the Law on Associations."

It was noted that in the second wave of operations organized in Istanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla within the scope of the file, raids were carried out on numerous addresses and digital materials were seized. It was stated that the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is examining allegations that high-amount money transfers were made from Ahbap Association accounts to the accounts of certain suspects, based on MASAK reports and technical and physical surveillance efforts.

The investigation file also included allegations that Levent conducted high-amount transactions on legal betting platforms between 2020 and 2026 and that money was transferred from association accounts to the account of Yeliz Kaya, who is alleged to be his assistant. It was reported that the detained lawyer Ece Güner argued that the money transfers in question took place within the scope of a debt relationship.
