The 'Syrian' detail in Turkey's fake diploma business: 'Which school, which department, what do you need?'

Journalist Murat Ağırel, who exposed the illegal activities of individuals who prepare fake diplomas via websites they set up and claim their diplomas are registered in the e-Government system, has revealed his conversations with Syrians producing fake diplomas in Turkey.

Ağırel shared details regarding his conversations on social media with individuals who were found to be issuing fake diplomas in Turkey.

"WE PRINT THEM, REGISTER THEM, AND SHIP THEM"

Journalist Murat Ağırel revealed his conversations with Syrians producing fake diplomas in Turkey on the program 'Kayda Geçsin' (For the Record) broadcast on Halk TV. Stating that a colleague had previously seen a report about fake diplomas, Murat Ağırel contacted the fraudsters via a WhatsApp line to conduct an investigation into the matter.

Sharing the conversation, Ağırel explained that he asked for information about a fake diploma, and the individuals replied, "What do you need, sir? Which school, which department, do we decide? You choose the school, the department, and the year; we print them, register them, and ship them."

Ağırel stated that the fraudsters claimed they register the fake diplomas they create into the e-Government system, making them appear official when accessed.

PRICES FOR PREPARED FAKE DIPLOMAS

Ağırel pointed out that the individuals apply different pricing for fake diplomas in different categories. The individuals demanded 17,000 TL for an associate degree diploma and 25,000 TL for a bachelor's degree diploma.

THERE ARE MANY SITES

On the landing page of the site accessed by Ağırel, it was revealed that by clicking the 'Buy Real Diploma' link located under the two sections clearly titled 'Fake Diploma' and 'Diploma for Money,' one can apply for a fake diploma by selecting high school, undergraduate, or associate degrees, as well as the desired university and department.

Furthermore, it was revealed that the prepared fake diplomas can be e-Devlet (e-Government) verified, and Ağırel pointed out that a source he spoke with regarding the matter confirmed there are individuals who have become civil servants using these fake diplomas.
