The truth behind the 'suitcases full of money' claim revealed in the indictment: They had shared insider information
Information regarding what was actually inside the suitcases, which were reported by pro-government media for days as being 'full of money,' has been included in the indictment.
Following the preparation and release of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) indictment months later, the information contained in the documents continues to be examined and notable details are being discussed. Most recently, journalist Alican Uludağ, who carefully examined the indictment and shared key sections on his social media account, announced that the 'suitcases full of money' claim, which occupied the agenda for a long time, was not included in the İBB indictment.
It was accepted in the İBB indictment that the suitcases did not contain 'money,' as journalist Sinan Burhan had claimed based on insider information, but rather jammers, as stated by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
