They answered the question of who better represents the demands of the Kurds: Resolution process survey

The latest public opinion survey conducted by Ank-Ar Research has also revealed citizens' views on the new resolution process. 

The responses given to the question posed to participants, "Who better represents the demands and views of the Kurds, Selahattin Demirtaş or Abdullah Öcalan?" revealed the differing approaches among party bases.

DEMİRTAŞ SURPASSED ÖCALAN

According to the general results of the research, 63.9 percent of the participants stated that they believe Selahattin Demirtaş better represents the demands of the Kurds. While the rate of those who preferred Abdullah Öcalan remained at 22.6 percent, 13.5 percent did not express an opinion.

PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE SAID 'ÖCALAN'

The most striking part of the survey was the data regarding the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) voters. While 48 percent of AKP voters stated that Abdullah Öcalan better represents the demands of the Kurds, the rate of those who said Selahattin Demirtaş remained at 41 percent.

A similar picture was seen among MHP voters. While 44.5 percent of the MHP base preferred Öcalan, the rate of those who answered Demirtaş was measured at 40.9 percent.

DEM PARTY BASE SAID 'DEMİRTAŞ'

Among DEM Party voters, Selahattin Demirtaş stood out by a wide margin. While 80 percent of the participants preferred Demirtaş, the rate of those who said Abdullah Öcalan remained at 17.9 percent.

It was observed that support for Demirtaş was also high among the voters of opposition parties. 82.4 percent of CHP voters, 71.4 percent of İYİ Party voters, 69.1 percent of New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) voters, and 72.6 percent of Anahtar Party voters answered Demirtaş.

Demirtaş was also seen to be in the lead among the group of undecided voters and those who stated they would not vote. In this group, 59.7 percent of the participants preferred Demirtaş.

While the research results reveal the differences in approach between the bases of political parties, they have also brought new discussions to the public agenda.
