The CHP-run Bodrum Municipality has broken its silence and issued a statement regarding the Kesme Dağı project, which is being plundered by Rönesans Holding through MRE İnşaat.

According to a report by Yaşar Anter from Sözcü, it was revealed that while the holding began construction on 66 super-luxury villas with swimming pools, the Bodrum Municipality had issued the building permit on December 9, 2024. As the mountain was torn apart like cotton by giant construction machinery, nothing remained of the mountain that once smelled of thyme and sage, and the environmental massacre broke hearts.

MUNICIPALITY HAD ACCEPTED SERVICE VEHICLE DONATIONS

Bodrum Municipality had accepted 10 work and service vehicles as a donation from Rönesans Holding during last week's council meeting. Following the news of the donation, the Bodrum Municipality, which had fallen silent, issued a written statement.

MUNICIPALITY HAD FILED AN OBJECTION

The written statement issued by the Bodrum Municipality stated the following:

“The plundering of nature within the scope of a construction project initiated by a company on Kesme Dağı in Bodrum Yalıkavak had caused reactions in the public. It has emerged that the Bodrum Municipality had filed an objection to the zoning plans of the land in question being changed. It was stated that after the objection was rejected, the Zoning Status Certificate was issued in October 2024 within the framework of legal requirements, and that the company made the vehicle donation in March 2025. According to information received from Bodrum Municipality officials, it was stated that all processes were in accordance with the law.”
