In Istanbul, on March 27, out of 124 people detained during the İmamoğlu protests held in front of the Cevahir Shopping Mall at the call of the Istanbul Universities Coordination (İÜK), 77 were released under judicial control and 10 were placed under house arrest. At the call of the coordination, which consists of students from prominent universities such as Boğaziçi University, Yıldız Technical University, and Istanbul Technical University, thousands of students gathered in front of the Cevahir Shopping Mall to support Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and protest his detention. The event served as a platform for students to take a stand against political pressure.

The 124 people detained during the protests were referred to the courthouse. A judicial control decision was issued for 77 people, and house arrest was ordered for 10 people. These individuals faced legal proceedings following their participation in the protests.
