Thief steals donation box for child with SMA in Balıkesir

In the Erdek district of Balıkesir, an unidentified thief entered a tea garden at midnight where a donation box had been placed for baby Kıvanç, who suffers from SMA Type 1, and disappeared after stealing the box full of money.

The incident took place at a tea garden located on the Erdek waterfront. In the morning hours, the unidentified individual entered the cafe under the pretext of using the restroom and set his sights on the donation box belonging to Kıvanç Karan, an SMA Type 1 patient approved by the Balıkesir Governor's Office. 

The individual, who first scouted the area, stole the donation box. The box, placed in Erdek tea gardens for 6-month-old Kıvanç Karan, who suffers from SMA Type 1, was intended to provide at least some support for his treatment.

The security camera footage of the suspect, who vanished into thin air with the stolen box in a short time, has left people appalled. The Erdek District Police Department has launched an investigation into the individual who stole the box, using footage obtained from the business.
