Third hearing begins in Kartalkaya tragedy case
The third hearing of the case regarding the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives, will be held tomorrow.
In the fire that broke out on January 21 at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Kartalkaya, Bolu, 78 people lost their lives and 133 were injured. The third hearing of the case, in which a total of 32 defendants, 20 of whom are in custody, are being tried in connection with this tragic event, will continue tomorrow at the Bolu 1st High Criminal Court.
Due to the high number of participants, the hearing will be held in the sports hall of the Bolu Social Sciences High School. At tomorrow's hearing, the parties will present their defenses against the prosecutor's opinion on the merits.
In the previous hearing, the presiding judge had decided to continue the detention of all defendants currently in custody and ordered the arrest of the non-detained defendant Mehmet Salun. These decisions continue to keep the course of the case and public interest alive.
