Third meeting at the Palace in the reconciliation process: Erdoğan to meet with DEM Party Imralı Delegation

DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, in a statement to ANKA, announced that the Imralı Delegation, which has been in contact with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan as part of the new reconciliation process, will meet again with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the near future. This meeting will be the third one the delegation holds with the President.

The delegation includes DEM Party Van MP and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Pervin Buldan and Şanlıurfa MP Mithat Sancar.

FIRST CONTACT AFTER 13 YEARS

The first meeting between the Imralı Delegation and President Erdoğan took place at the Palace on April 10, following a 13-year hiatus. At that time, the delegation included Pervin Buldan and the late Deputy Speaker of the TBMM and Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

SECOND MEETING HELD IN JULY

The second meeting was held on July 7, again at the Presidential Complex. This time, the delegation included Deputy Speaker of the TBMM Pervin Buldan and Şanlıurfa MP Mithat Sancar. AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and MIT Undersecretary İbrahim Kalın were also present at the meeting. The meeting, which lasted approximately one hour, signaled the continuation of the process.

MEETING DATE HAS BEEN SET

The delegation will meet with Erdoğan for the third time on October 28.

MEETING AT PARTY HEADQUARTERS BEFORE ERDOĞAN TALKS

The Imralı Delegation had previously held a meeting with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, in Imralı. Following this visit, and prior to the contact with President Erdoğan, they met with Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları at the DEM Party Headquarters.
