This happened too! Green Crescent branch president arrested for drugs

AKP Deputy Chairman Erkan Kandemir came to Kilis last week and held a meeting with the organization. After his visit to Kilis, he traveled to Şanlıurfa with a vehicle convoy. The vehicle driven by Green Crescent President Ahmet Zorlu, which was part of the convoy, was involved in a traffic accident while returning from Urfa.

After the vehicle was left at a repair shop in Gaziantep, a tip-off regarding drugs was received. The Gendarmerie seized 800 grams of drugs, a precision scale, and a keypad phone in the vehicle. 

Zorlu, who was in Kilis, was summoned to Gaziantep. He gave his statement to the prosecutor's office and was arrested by the court. Denying the accusations, Zorlu testified, "I have no knowledge of this, the vehicle is a rental." The Gendarmerie is investigating the phone from which the tip-off was made.

Former AKP Kilis Deputy Reşit Polat, who worked in politics with Zorlu in Kilis, told Sözcü, "This is a small city, everyone knows each other. Ahmet Zorlu is also a friend of ours from the AK Party. He is an educator, I cannot believe it either; as far as I know him, he is not someone who could do this. I think there is a mistake."
