This is how money was squandered in Kayseri! They paid 1.2 million liras for 31 decorative umbrellas

The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Department of Surveys and Projects held a tender on October 24 for the “Procurement of 31 Decorative Umbrellas for Use in the Public Garden.” Only a company named Erim Mimarlık submitted a bid for the tender, which was conducted via the bargaining method.

Following the evaluation of the bid, the contract for the tender was signed on November 13. The value of the contract signed between the municipality and Erim Mimarlık was 1 million 289 thousand 600 TL.

It was reported that 31 decorative umbrellas would be purchased for the RTE Public Garden within the scope of the tender.

287 MILLION LIRAS SPENT SO FAR

According to a report by BirGün newspaper, the total money spent on the public garden, which began construction in September 2020 and was planned to open on March 21, 2022, but still had deficiencies as of November 2023, has reached 287.2 million TL including the decorative umbrellas.

Some of the expenditure items for the public garden, for which 100 million 900 thousand TL was spent on its rough construction, are as follows:

Culinary arts center: 16 million 238 thousand TL

Food and beverage venues: 6 million 648 thousand TL

Library: 55 million 360 thousand TL

City museum: 46 million 723 TL

Regional delicacies production and training center: 44 million 888 thousand TL

BMX track: 10 million 364 thousand 400 TL
