THK rector Ünsal Ban has fled abroad: He had been released shortly before
Ünsal Ban, who faces four lawsuits and was under a travel ban, has fled the country.
Ünsal Ban, who made headlines with his contentious divorce from AKP member Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu, is being tried in four separate cases, and was under a travel ban, has fled abroad.
It has also emerged that Ban had obtained a Greek passport prior to his attempt to flee to Greece.
Ünsal Ban, his ex-wife AKP Erzurum MP Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu, and former Capital Markets Board (SPK) Chairman Ali Fuat Taşkesenlioğlu had previously been at the center of bribery allegations regarding the capital increases of certain companies.
According to a report by Alican Uludağ from NOW Haber, Ünsal Ban—who is being tried in 4 cases, has separate travel bans for 3 of them, and was previously arrested while attempting to flee to Greece—has now successfully fled abroad.
Ünsal Ban, who was arrested during a stock market manipulation investigation, was released after 36 days by benefiting from effective remorse provisions. Ban had previously been caught in Fethiye while attempting to flee following a detention order.
