Thousands march for the Republic in three major cities

Addressing the crowd during the march from in front of the Cevahir Shopping Mall to the Harbiye Military Museum in Istanbul, TKP Party Council member Gizem Batı Ayaz said, "Yes, we did it 100 years ago; the poor people stood up and took their destiny into their own hands, did what was called impossible, wrote a new history on these lands against the palace and imperialism, and founded the Republic! There is no room for hopelessness in these lands! Now we need a new foundation, the liberation of the laborers!

We did it 100 years ago, we will do it again! This time we will stand up to build what will not be destroyed!" she said, calling for a new Republic.

Speaking at the march, TKP Party Council member Ahmet Dinçel stated that it is impossible to save the day by postponing the change of the order in Turkey, and emphasized that liberation will be brought closer by keeping the idea of revolution and socialism current, spreading it, and organizing it. Theater actor Metin Coşgun supported the march with the poem "Kablettarih" by the great poet Nâzım Hikmet.

"WE ARE CHALLENGING THIS DARK ORDER OF YOURS"

TKP Central Committee member Ali Ufuk Arikan gave a speech during the march from the Yüksel Human Rights Monument to Sakarya Street in Ankara. Emphasizing that the CHP has as much of a share in the liquidation of the Republic as the AKP, Arikan said, "We are challenging this dark order of yours, this order of exploitation.

We promise that we will raise the idea of the Republic, which you have liquidated and trampled upon together, back up once again.

We promise that this idea will rise in the hands of the laborers. We promise this in memory of our sister whom we lost in a KYK dormitory just recently. We will displace this order, this bosses' order, which disregards human life and eliminates the right to life of young people, children, and laborers," he said, commemorating Zeren Ertaş.

"WE WILL TAKE THE COUNTRY OUT OF THE HANDS OF HOLDINGS AND SECTS"

Speaking at the march from in front of the Alsancak Penguin Bookstore to Gündoğdu Square in Izmir, TKP Central Committee member Savaş Sarı emphasized that the holdings, which are now racing to celebrate the Republic, are among the primary culprits in the destruction of all values belonging to the Republic.

"We will respond to this hypocrisy and this ugliness by raising the Republic up again," he said. Stating that secular education cannot even be discussed in our country today, Savaş Sarı said, "We will definitely hold them accountable for the capital order handing our children over to a reactionary education far from science, hand in hand with sects, for the ÇEDES projects, and for our young people who were poisoned by food in state dormitories and died in elevators."

Thousands of people marching with enthusiasm chanted slogans such as "Down with the Sultanate, Long Live the Republic," "Long Live the Youth, Long Live the Republic," "No Passage for Sharia, Fascism, and Darkness," and "Stand Up for Secularism."
