Three business figures had testified: Striking remarks from Şamil Tayyar regarding the IMM investigation

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has seen prominent figures from the business world summoned to testify as part of an investigation launched into allegations of corruption.

In this context, Divan Hotels General Manager Murat Tomruk, AKFEN Holding Chairman of the Board Hamdi Akın, and Astaş Holding and Astaş Real Estate founder and Chairman of the Board Vedat Aşçı went to the courthouse to provide their statements.

While the summoning of business figures as part of the investigation remains a hot topic, a noteworthy assessment came from AKP member Şamil Tayyar.

Stating that there will be other businesspeople summoned to testify, Şamil Tayyar noted that there could be surprise names among them.

Noting that the business world is uneasy, Tayyar suggested that things will heat up a bit more before the indictment of the detained IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is completed.
