Three suspects have been arrested in an investigation into two murders that took place on the same day in Büyükçekmece and Bağcılar, Istanbul. Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch, Homicide Bureau, determined that Y.G. (32), K.K. (30), and S.C.B. (22), who were considered to be linked to the incidents, were preparing to flee the country illegally.
An operation was launched after it was determined that the suspects were in Edirne. The three individuals were taken into custody and brought to Istanbul for questioning.

The first leg of the investigation began on October 21 at around 13:00 at a residence in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Büyükçekmece. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address after gunshots were heard coming from an apartment on the 17th floor. Checks in the apartment confirmed that 26-year-old Yasin Binarci had lost his life. Mehmet Işık, who was wounded in the armed attack, was taken to the hospital.
Searches conducted at the scene yielded three handguns and a quantity of narcotics. Police teams initiated an investigation to identify the individuals who fled after the attack and to determine how the incident occurred.
SECOND BODY FOUND IN BAĞCILAR
Approximately three hours after the armed incident in Büyükçekmece, a male body with gunshot wounds was found inside a car on Taşocağı Street in the Mahmutbey neighborhood of Bağcılar. Examinations identified the deceased as 22-year-old Mehmet Emin Yüksel.
Two 9-millimeter shell casings and a knife were recovered from the car. The Homicide Bureau teams determined that Mehmet Emin Yüksel was among the suspects in the armed incident that occurred hours earlier at the residence in Büyükçekmece.

Reviewing security camera footage, the teams determined that Mehmet Emin Yüksel had left the residence with other individuals following the incident in Büyükçekmece. It was noted that Yüksel's face appeared bloody in the footage.
The investigation by the police to clarify the connection between the two murders and the roles of the detained suspects in the incidents is ongoing.
