TikTok murder in Kağıthane
In Kağıthane, 16-year-old Emir Koçhan lost his life after being struck in the head during a fight that broke out due to an argument on social media. Police have detained four people in connection with the incident.
In an incident that took place in the Hamidiye neighborhood of Kağıthane, 16-year-old Emir Koçhan took photos with his friends in front of the words "Ayazağa Cats, I'm Coming" written on a park wall in the neighborhood and shared these photos on TikTok. Following this post, an argument began on social media between the people who wrote the message and Emir and his friends.

The argument continued with a face-to-face meeting between the two groups on August 17. Emir and his friends were beaten by a group in a wooded area in Ayazağa. Emir fainted after being unable to breathe due to the blows he received to his head. After the attacking group left the scene, Emir Koçhan, who was taken to the hospital by an ambulance that arrived following a report, passed away two days later.

Police launched an investigation into this incident, which developed following the TikTok post. Y.Ş. (16), İ.C. (17), F.A.T. (15), and Ş.A. (15), who were determined to have a connection to the incident, were taken into custody.
