TİP MP Sera Kadıgil brings Narin murder to Parliament's agenda: 'Will Ensarioğlu be called to testify?'

Kadıgil, who brought to the parliamentary agenda the allegations regarding the experiences of 8-year-old Narin Güran—who went missing in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır and whose body was found 19 days later inside a sack covered with stones next to the Eğertutmaz Stream—asked the Ministry of Family, which stated that it would follow the case, "Other than the promise of 'personally following the process,' what has your Ministry done to date? How many inspectors and experts affiliated with your Ministry have been assigned to investigate what is happening to the children in the village, and what do you plan to do? Is your Ministry's duty limited to telling 'sacred family fairy tales'?" On the other hand, in the motion she submitted for the Ministry of Justice to answer, Kadıgil asked regarding the remarks of Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu, "There are things we sometimes don't know, and sometimes things we know but shouldn't say. Because the family are our friends," "Will his testimony be taken as a witness?"

CRITICISM OF THE MINISTRY

TİP Istanbul MP Sera Kadıgil brought the Narin Güran murder to the parliamentary agenda.

Kadıgil directed the following questions to the Ministry of Family, which quoted Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's tweet and stated that they would follow the event throughout this process: "According to 2023 Ministry of Justice data, while the number of child sexual abuse files reaching prosecutor's offices is 66 thousand 138, the number of child sexual abuse cases heard in courts is 14 thousand 919, and the number of convicted persons is only 7 thousand 88, what has your Ministry done to date regarding the children in the village—which is alleged to be one of the places where this picture is concretely experienced—other than the promise of 'personally following the process'? How many inspectors and experts affiliated with your Ministry have been assigned to investigate what is happening to the children in the village, and what do you plan to do? Is your Ministry's duty limited to telling 'sacred family fairy tales'?"

The TİP MP also reminded the Ministry of Justice in her motion of the "Crime of Failure to Report a Crime" in the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), and by underlining that AKP Diyarbakır MP Ensarioğlu is a "friend" of the Güran family, who are in the position of perpetrators, she asked whether his testimony would be taken as a witness regarding the things he "knows but cannot say."

'WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WOMAN PUNCHED IN FRONT OF CAMERAS?'

In her motion, where she highlighted that the village where the events took place is under the pressure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and that many similar human rights violations have occurred, Istanbul MP Kadıgil made the following statements:

"Along with all this, there are also allegations in the public eye that the rights to life of Narin's relatives are being violated. Other allegations include that Narin's disabled older sister also died at the age of 7 after falling down the stairs, that no autopsy was performed regarding this suspicious death, and that the file was covered up; that Narin's 17-year-old cousin committed suicide during the Feast of Sacrifice; and that another cousin attempted suicide and remained bedridden. It is claimed that all these events are known by many people in the village, that great pressure is exerted so that no information is given to the authorities regarding those responsible, and that those who commit crimes, whether voluntarily or by force, are hidden. The video shared on social media, which shows that on 08.09.2024, the day Narin's lifeless body was reached, a female relative of Narin Güran turned to the crowd in front of the funeral waiting hall and shouted, 'Go and lie, okay?', and in the continuation of which the shouting woman was tried to be silenced and then a man attacked the woman with a punch and tried to remove her from the scene, strengthens the above allegation."

'IS YOUR JOB DONE BY RETWEETING ERDOĞAN?'

Kadıgil, in the motion where she questioned what the Ministry of Family and Social Services has done to date, stated the following:

"While your Ministry has not made any statement to date regarding the incident, which is followed by the entire public, rights defenders, non-governmental organizations, and politicians; you, personally, days after the incident, only 22 hours ago, found it sufficient to use the following expressions by retweeting Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's tweet on the subject on your social media account: 'Unfortunately, the lifeless body of our child Narin, who went missing in Bağlar, Diyarbakır, has been reached. Our condolences. May our little Narin's place be heaven. As the Ministry, we will personally follow the process so that those responsible receive the heaviest punishment.'"

Kadıgil requested answers to the following questions;

1. What kind of protective measures has your Ministry taken to date regarding Narin's siblings? What is the fate of the children?

2. Has there been any request or effort on your part to include the death of Narin's older sister in the investigation?

3. How many children live in the village in question? What is the age and gender distribution of these children? How many of the children are in education? What is the gender and age distribution of the children in education?

4. Has a data and evaluation study been initiated regarding how many children have gone missing suspiciously and how many children have committed suicide in the village in question to date?

5. Will an investigation be initiated by your Ministry regarding child, early, and forced marriages in the village, taking into account the fact that men were in the majority at 8-year-old Narin's funeral and that a bridal veil was draped over her coffin?

6. Will any legal initiative be taken to investigate the words of Narin's relative and MP Ensarioğlu?

7. What is the fate of the woman who was tried to be silenced and subjected to violence in front of the funeral waiting hall? Will she be informed about her rights and legal possibilities, taking into account the footage reflected in the public eye, regarding whether she was subjected to life-threatening or ill-treatment by her relatives?

8. On the other hand, in the motion she submitted for the Minister of Justice to answer, Kadıgil stated that Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu of the party you are affiliated with used the expressions "There are things we sometimes don't know, and sometimes things we know but shouldn't say.
