Tip-off in the file of the judge who released the drug barons: 'They agreed on 720 thousand dollars'

Accepting the appeal, the Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court ordered the re-arrest of Abdullah Alp Üstün, his son Efe Alp Üstün, Aziz Demir, Bahadır Mert Oğur, Eric Schroeder, Selçuk Aydın, and Wilhelmus Adrianus Leijdekkers. However, it was learned that all the defendants had fled and efforts were underway to capture them.

INVESTIGATION PERMISSION GRANTED

The 1st Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), with the approval of Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, granted permission for an investigation into the presiding judge Oktay A., who issued the release decision for the 15 defendants despite the evidence in the file and the detailed MASAK report prepared regarding money laundering. Following the investigation permission, an inspector was appointed by the HSK Inspection Board to investigate the releases.

COURT PANEL SUSPENDED
