TKP calls for protest against trustee appointment at Tele1
Reactions continue following the detention of journalist Merdan Yanardağ on espionage charges and the subsequent appointment of a trustee to the TELE1 channel. The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has also issued a call to support TELE1 and Yanardağ.
The Communist Party of Turkey has called for a gathering in front of the TELE1 building in Istanbul tomorrow at 13:00 in solidarity with TELE1 and Merdan Yanardağ.
In the call, which states, "We do not accept trustees for the press," it was announced that a meeting will be held in front of the TELE1 building in Istanbul tomorrow at 13:00.
In a statement made immediately after the appointment of a trustee to TELE1, the TKP declared that it stands with Merdan Yanardağ and the employees of TELE1, emphasizing that the trustee decision is a scandal in every respect.
