TKP members gather at event titled 'NATO is dishonor and death'

While a de facto state of emergency continues in the capital against the 36th NATO Summit, which Ankara will host on July 7-8, and the visit of US President Donald Trump to Turkey, the TKP is reacting to this situation with a call it has issued.

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) is holding a meeting this evening at 19:30 at the Istanbul Kadıköy Caferağa Sports Hall under the title, "NATO is dishonor and death! Long live life, independence, and socialism!"

In a post regarding the event shared on the TKP's social media account, the following statements were made: 

"We are together in Istanbul against NATO's bloody war plans and attacks. Working people are side by side to defend life, independence, and socialism against the world's largest terrorist organization..." the statement read.

In the TKP's call, it was stated, "We are meeting against war, destruction, and imperialist plans; to show that neither Turkey nor the peoples of the world are ownerless and helpless."
