Tourist attacked by bear while camping at Mount Nemrut rescued

British tourist Christopher Lomas Adans, who had set up a tent to camp at the Nemrut Caldera—a location that has frequently been in the news recently due to bear attacks—was subjected to an attempted attack by bears searching for food during the night. The bears, which arrived at the area where the tent was pitched, ate the tourist's food and knocked over his motorcycle.

As the bears continued to search for food in the vicinity and attempted to enter the tent, a distress call was made to 112 for the panicked tourist. Following the report, gendarmerie, UMKE, and AFAD teams arrived at the scene. The teams rescued the tourist, who was trapped in the tent, and handed him over to medical personnel.

The tourist, whose health condition is good but who was quite frightened by the attempted attack, was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was discharged after undergoing medical checks.
