Traffic congestion experienced on the first day of the week in Istanbul

Due to the start of the school day and those heading to work early in the morning, traffic congestion increased on the D-100 highway, the TEM Motorway, and connecting roads on both the Anatolian and European sides of the city.

Vehicles are struggling to move while crossing between the two sides on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge.

On the Anatolian Side, heavy traffic is observed at the TEM Motorway Kavacık connection in the direction of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

Vehicles are having difficulty moving on the D-100 Bostancı Bridge, in the direction of Kartal and Kadıköy, and from Ümraniye to Ataşehir.

On the European Side, while traffic is seen to be flowing at the Mahmutbey Tolls location on the TEM Motorway, there are disruptions in the flow between Bağcılar and Esenler due to vehicle density.

Heavy traffic is observed between Beylikdüzü and Küçükçekmece on the D-100 highway, and from Ispartakule to Mahmutbey in the Ankara direction of the TEM Motorway.

According to the IMM Pocket Traffic Map data, traffic congestion reached 65 percent across the city in the early hours of the morning, and up to 74 percent on the Anatolian Side.
