Traffic density in Istanbul reaches 85 percent with the start of the mid-term break
With the start of the mid-term break in schools in Istanbul, traffic density reached 85 percent during the evening hours.
Traffic congestion, which began at the end of the workday in Istanbul, caused disruptions in transportation on both the Anatolian and European sides.
According to the Istanbul MetropolitanMunicipality (IMM) Cep Trafik data,as of 17:30, traffic density on both sides of the cityrose to 85 percent.
Both the end of the work dDue to the evening rush hour and the start of the 2-weekmid-term break in schools,drivers struggled to make progress on the D-100 Highway and connecting roads.Drivers had difficulty moving forward.
In Merter and Cevizlibağ,which lead to both sides of the megacity,vehicles formedlong queues.
