Traffic fully restored on the Anatolian Motorway following closure due to snowfall

Following the two-way suspension of traffic in the Cankurtaran section of the motorway due to accidents, stranded vehicles, and vehicles sliding on the road caused by snowfall and icing, teams launched clearing operations.

As a result of the work carried out by the General Directorate of Highways and gendarmerie teams, the Istanbul-bound lanes of the motorway were the first to be reopened to traffic under controlled conditions. Following intensive efforts by the teams, traffic in the Ankara-bound direction was also restored under controlled conditions shortly thereafter.

Snow removal and salting operations by the teams in the region are ongoing.

In a post shared on the Bolu Governor's Office's social media account, it was noted that fuel, food, water, and blankets were distributed to drivers and citizens who were forced to wait on the road, under the coordination of the Governor's Office by the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), and relevant organizations.
