Tragic accident in Eyüpsultan: Car collides with IETT bus
Two people lost their lives after a car driver lost control of the steering wheel in Eyüpsultan, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with an IETT bus. The moment of the accident was captured on security cameras.
On the evening of December 31, around 19:30, an accident occurred in the 5. Levent neighborhood of Eyüpsultan when a car driven by Abdullah Semih Aydın crossed into the opposite lane after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The out-of-control vehicle collided head-on with an IETT bus driven by Erkan Ö.
RESCUE EFFORTS PROVED FUTILE
Upon notification by witnesses, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews managed to extract Abdullah Semih Aydın and his passenger, Ceyda Öztürk, who were trapped inside the car. Despite all medical interventions, Aydın and Öztürk, who were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, lost their lives.

The street was closed to traffic for a period due to the accident. The road was reopened to traffic once the vehicles were removed. The police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
