Tragic accident returning from conference: Two doctors killed
Prof. Dr. Nildağ Turgut and Specialist Dr. Emel Ersöz lost their lives, and two other doctors were injured, when the SUV they were traveling in lost control and crashed into a retaining wall in Tekirdağ.
Prof. Dr. Nildağ Turgut, Director of the Health Sciences Institute at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, Specialist Dr. Emel Ersöz, who worked at Tekirdağ Dr. İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu City Hospital, and doctors A.A.G. and L.K. had attended a conference held in the Kumbağ neighborhood of the Süleymanpaşa district.
Following the conference, the doctors set off for home in an SUV with license plate 22 ADU 345, driven by L.K. The SUV crashed into a retaining wall after the driver lost steering control on a curve.

Upon notification by witnesses to the accident, gendarmerie, medical, and fire department teams were dispatched to the area. Checks performed by the teams determined that Prof. Dr. Nildağ Turgut and Specialist Dr. Emel Ersöz had lost their lives.
The injured female doctors, A.A.G. and L.K., were taken to Namık Kemal University Hospital following initial intervention.

The bodies of the two deceased doctors were taken to the morgue following the investigation conducted at the scene of the accident.
The investigation launched into the accident is being continued by the gendarmerie.
