The body of fisherman Kadir Kalanoğlu, who went missing in Ayvalık, has been found on the Greek island of Lesbos. The necklace and watch found on the body of the 73-year-old Kalanoğlu, who went missing on October 15, have been presented to his family for examination. A DNA test will confirm whether the body belongs to Kalanoğlu.
Fisherman Kadir Kalanoğlu (73), who set off from İzmir's Aliağa district with his boat to go to Ayvalık, went missing off the coast of Altınova on October 15. A search and rescue operation was launched for Kalanoğlu.

While there had been no news from Kalanoğlu for 10 days, a body washed ashore on the Greek island of Lesbos yesterday morning. Photographs of the necklace and watch found on the unrecognizable body, which was wearing a life jacket, were sent by Greek authorities to Turkish authorities. Officials who reached out to Kalanoğlu's family had them examine the photos.

According to initial findings, it is believed that the watch and necklace could belong to Kalanoğlu. The body has been taken to a hospital morgue in Lesbos. Whether the lifeless body belongs to Kadir Kalanoğlu will be determined based on the results of a DNA test.
