Travel ban and judicial control requested for Lütfi Arıboğan and İlhan Helvacı: Match-fixing conspiracy in football

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the process publicly known as the "2011 Football Match-Fixing Investigation," which targetedmany people from the sports community,most notably former Fenerbahçe Sports Clubpresident Aziz Yıldırım.The investigationinto the processis ongoing.investigation, former Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Vice President Lütfi Arıboğan, former Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) President Ahmet Gülüm, Lawyer İlhan Helvacı and former Galatasaray Board Member Ebru Köksal were taken into custody, it was announced.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's OfficeIn the statement, it wasstated that theinvestigations andprosecutions in question wereconducted irregularly by agroup of former publicofficials who were members of the FETÖ/PDY terrorist organization.was conductedit was stated thatThe statement alsoadded that theyparticipated inirregular procedures in connection withMehmet Baransu,who is identified as a member of the terrorist organization.before suspicion was foundfor the individuals mentioned, regarding "FETÖ/PDY Armed Terrorist Organization Assistance" and "Violation of Confidentiality of Investigation" chargeschargeswere processed accordingly.

Meanwhile, the 4 individualswho were detained werebrought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, and following their statements to the prosecutor, Lütfi Arıboğan and İlhan Helvacı were referred for a travel were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for a travel ban and judicial control. The other suspects Ahmet Gülüm and Ebru Köksal were released.The investigation continues.
