'Travel ban' for İmamoğlu's father and son
The court has issued a 'travel ban' for the father and son of Ekrem İmamoğlu, who are scheduled to give statements tomorrow.
A travel ban has been imposed on the father and son of CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, even before their statements were taken. The Criminal Judgeship of Peace issued the decision within the scope of a "corruption" case.
CHP's Presidential Candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's father, Hasan İmamoğlu, and his son, Selim İmamoğlu, who are being held at the Marmara Prison, were summoned as part of a "corruption investigation."
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Hasan İmamoğlu and Selim İmamoğlu would provide statements "in line with the evidence within the investigation file."
Hasan and Selim İmamoğlu were scheduled to be at the Istanbul Police Department tomorrow (November 5, 2025) to give their statements.
However, the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said, "By the decision of the Istanbul Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated today, it has been decided to apply a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban regarding the suspects."
Hasan İmamoğlu and his son Selim İmamoğlu, who have been issued a travel ban, will give their statements at the Istanbul Police Department tomorrow.
