Travel to Erzincan banned; governor's office wants no protests!
The Sivas Governor's Office has banned travel to Erzincan in order to prevent protest actions.
On February 13, around noon, a 'massive landslide' occurred at the heap leach pad. According to official data, approximately 10 million cubic meters of soil spread over an 800-meter area at a speed of 10 meters per second. Efforts to rescue the nine workers trapped under the soil are ongoing.
The Sivas Governor's Office has also banned travel to Erzincan in order to prevent protest actions.
The following was noted in the written statement shared by the Governor's Office:
“The departure of individuals and vehicles from our province that are assessed as potentially traveling to Erzincan to participate in unlawful actions has been prohibited within the geographical borders of Sivas for a period of seven days, until 23:59 on 20/02/2024, in accordance with the decision of the Governor's Office.”
