Trial of Metin Şenay, who sexually abused 4 children, has begun
The trial of Metin Şenay, a water vendor who sexually abused 4 children in Bağcılar between 2019 and 2023 and faces up to 331 years and 6 months in prison, has begun.
In Istanbul's Bağcılar district, the revelation that water vendor Metin Şenay (60) had been sexually abusing children for over 10 years in a soundproof room at his shop caused public outrage in the country.
Şenay was caught while sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
Teams entering the shop found M.Y. in the secret room. Metin Şenay was arrested on May 25, 2023.
Footage of the abuse of children was seized at the shop.
As the trial of Şenay begins, he faces up to 331 years and 6 months in prison.
Furthermore, the hearing is being held behind closed doors.
