The 47th President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced in a post on the social media platform Truth Social that he has nominated Tom Barrack, founder of the investment firm Colony Capital, as the new U.S. Ambassador to Ankara.
"HE IS KNOWN AS AN EXPERIENCED AND REASONABLE NAME"
In his post, Trump announced the new Ambassador to Ankara as follows:
"I am pleased to announce that Tom Barrack will be appointed as our next Ambassador to Turkey. Tom successfully managed a global private equity firm for 30 years. He is known as an experienced and reasonable name, respected by a wide variety of opinion leaders in both politics and the business world."
HE WAS ACCUSED OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES
Tom Barrack, whom Trump selected as the ambassador to Ankara, was previously accused of illegal activities. Barrack was acquitted of these charges brought against him.
