Trustees appointed to 6 companies owned by Bebek Hotel operator Muzaffer Yıldırım
The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) has been appointed as trustee to 6 companies owned by Muzaffer Yıldırım, the operator of Bebek Hotel, who was arrested as part of a "narcotics" and "prostitution" investigation in Istanbul.
In a statement issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that the investigation conducted by the Bureau for Investigation of Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering Crimes against suspect Muzaffer Yıldırım regarding the crime of "laundering assets derived from crime" is ongoing.
The statement reported that, by a decision of the Criminal Judgeship of Peace, the TMSF has been appointed as trustee for 6 companies in which the suspect is a partner and operator, and which are considered to have been used in activities to launder criminal proceeds obtained within the scope of predicate offenses, adding that the investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted and meticulous manner.
