Trustees appointed to companies of fugitive Gülibrahimoğlu in IMM investigation
A trustee has been appointed to the company of fugitive suspect Murat Gülibrahimoğlu as part of the corruption investigation conducted into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
The investigation into corruption allegations concerning the IMM and its suspended, imprisoned mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu continues.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was alleged that one of the suspects, Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, held money obtained from crime in his own accounts and the accounts of his first and second-degree relatives, used the funds in these accounts to purchase foreign currency, gold, real estate, and vehicles, and also kept them in bank safety deposit boxes linked to his relatives' bank accounts.
Following this, the Prosecutor's Office seized all assets believed to have been obtained from crime by Gülibrahimoğlu, including his company, Güney Cebeci Madencilik Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., in order to prevent the transfer or sale of the suspect's assets and to prevent the smuggling of valuables such as money and gold held in bank accounts and personal safety deposit boxes within banks.
As a result of the examinations conducted on the seized companies of the fugitive suspect Murat Gülibrahimoğlu by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace and the findings regarding the suspect within the scope of the file, a decision was made to appoint a duty trustee to the suspect's seized companies in line with the request.
