TTB announces: Physicians to strike for 5 days

Following the 3-day nationwide strike by family physicians recently, it has been learned that physicians will also go on a 5-day strike. A statement came from the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) against the "Regulation on Amendments to the Family Medicine Contract and Payment Regulation," which healthcare workers describe as a "persecution regulation."

In the statement made by the TTB, it was announced that physicians across the country will stop work for 5 days between December 2-6, 2024.

The following statements were included in the announcement made by the Turkish Medical Association (TTB):

"We are warning the Ministry of Health. We do not accept this direction. Our actions will continue until the 'Persecution Regulation' is withdrawn. For our professional dignity and the health of the public; we announce to the Ministry of Health and the public that we will stop work for 5 days between December 2-6, 2024."

Pointing out that the new regulation turns the relationship between patient and physician into a "customer" relationship, physicians emphasize that the regulation must be canceled.
