Tuncer Bakırhan announces a house has been built for Öcalan on İmralı

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan made statements regarding the second peace process, referred to as a Terror-Free Turkey.

Stating that concrete steps must be taken in the process, Bakırhan claimed that Kurds are experiencing 'distrust' regarding the process and said, "There is a need for a law that will convince the parties."

"PEOPLE WANT CONCRETE STEPS"

Speaking to Medya Haber, Bakırhan stated that the AKP government must have a roadmap and noted the following:

"The government must now have a roadmap. We have reached a point where we can no longer proceed with mere words, good descriptions, and definitions. People want concrete steps."

Bakırhan confirmed reports that a structure has been built at İmralı Prison for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK. Stating that the status issue regarding Öcalan must be resolved, Bakırhan continued as follows:

"Let the place where he will stay be named. We had said that these arrangements should be handled without delay. There is a structure for him to move into. There is a compound, but what is its name, what is its status? The issue of what we will call it when moving there and how we will describe it needs to be clarified now. There may be developments on this matter in the near future; I think there could be."
