Tuncer Bakırhan speaks on Sırrı Süreyya Önder's health status

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan made statements to members of the press in front of the hospital where Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder is receiving treatment. Bakırhan began his remarks by thanking all political parties, primarily President Erdoğan and Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş.

Highlights from Bakırhan's speech are as follows:

'Sırrı Süreyya Önder is fighting, he is resisting. These are very historic days. The peoples of Turkey were all here together. Yes, they were curious about Sırrı Süreyya Önder's health status, but they stood in solidarity mostly because of his struggle for peace. I hope that this solidarity and support shown to Sırrı Süreyya Önder will continue in the coming days with the peace process for which Önder has sacrificed his health.

Let no one have any doubts. We are in one of Turkey's best hospitals. We are facing an operation performed by the best physicians. We hope that Sırrı Süreyya Önder will regain his health thanks to these very good physicians.'
