Turgut Altınok criticizes Mansur Yavaş over 'illicit money'

The posters that parties hang on the streets before elections are being met with reactions from citizens.

While the large number of posters can reach disturbing levels, AKP's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok made a notable criticism of ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş regarding the posters.

Participating in a live broadcast on CNN Türk, Turgut Altınok touched upon the advertising posters that Yavaş had hung all over Ankara.

Altınok stated that the total money spent on the campaign is over 2.5 billion liras.

REMINDED HIM OF HIS 'ILLICIT MONEY' WORDS

Pointing to the words Mansur Yavaş had previously said, "If you see my pictures all over Ankara one day, that is illicit money," Altınok used the following expressions:

"And right now, wherever you look in Ankara, there are no works on the walls, there are pictures"

The money he spent on the campaign in Ankara is 2-2.5 billion. You look at all the walls, Mr. Yavaş is there. What is needed for a campaign, what kind of budget is required? The money he gave just to the walls is over 1 billion.

He once said, 'If you see my pictures all over Ankara one day, it is with illicit money.' He said it himself at the time. Right now, wherever you look in Ankara, there are no works on all the walls, there are pictures, one after another.

In our campaign, all expenses are covered by our headquarters. We cannot find such figures. The total election support the CHP received from the treasury is 1 billion 800 million. Even if they spent all of it in Ankara, it would still not be enough.
